3g to 4g?
I assume you tried turning it upside down...I usually get it wrong first. And are there 2 slots?
Any youngsters nearby whod probably sort it in a jiffy ( but would'nt know what that means)
What phone have you got?
Question Author
Samsung galaxy m23
Your phone is capable of 5G so that's not the problem.
You don't switch your phone from 3G/4G/5G, it should do it automatically depending on the signal it picks up. You can check the settings for this are set to 'auto' in 'preferred network type'.

Is your phone working over WiFi?

It's not even appearing here! 3g and so weak. On WiFi at sisters ok.
My phone switches automatically depending on what is available.
What shows on your sisters phone?
Your phone won't connect to WiFi at your home? Is that right?

If so that is nothing to do with your SIM card - your phone will connect to WiFi without a SIM card.

I don't know if you are in the UK - if so, check your 3G/4G signal here, just pop your postcode in https://checker.ofcom.org.uk/en-gb/mobile-coverage

Phone does connect to WiFi

Obviously I mean 3g plan changed to 4g on new sim but can any of them do it? It's deffo the sim as worked fine until they exchanged it. They exchanged it because it was so old! 5 days and counting!
Assuming you have mobile data switched on in your network settings you need to go back to EE and ask for a new SIM card.
It wouldn't connect to 3G or 4G at your sisters either?
so did you have to post off/hand over your old sim? Not sure why they replaced it- maybe old but it still worked???
Question Author
New sim won't connect to either 3g or 4g. They changed it because it was so old and signal was weak but it worked. I go to the shop daily and they fob me off saying they can't so it and to phone this or that I've done it all!!
Get a cheap payg SIM card and see if it connects.
If it does it is proof the SIM card is faulty. You will be able to cancel your contract and choose a new provider.
You will be able to transfer the phone number
sounds like you need to sit there in the shop assuming its an EE shop until they sort it or give your old SIM back to you

Resolved! After chasing my tail for 6 days a kind chap from EE somewhere on the interweb solved it and I now have 4g. Wasnt the card was the data plan!
Thanks guys for helping !
Glad you are sorted :) You might even get 5G when you're out and about if you can't get it at home.
