Humax, No Signal

We had a powercut during the night. A couple of things - the microwave and the cooker - needed their clocks reset this morning. I've just discovered that my Humax recorder seems to have been affected too. We use our tv as a 'non-smart' one, watching and recording things through 'the box'. When I tried to watch tv today, I got 'no signal detected'. I went to 'inputs' on my tv screen, clicked on HDMI1 - as usual - and all we get is 'No signal detected'. I have checked all the connections, unplugged and restarted, but only get the same message. We are able to watch tv - on 'aerial' setting, but at some point I'd like to watch the programmes I recorded previously. Any advice or tips would be appreciated.

Is your box turned on?
Question Author
Yes, I made sure to put it back on after switching off to check cables and so on.
Any lights or other indication that electricity is getting through?
Perhaps the power cut took the transmitter out ?
(This is just a guess, I don't really understand this complex issue)
Is it a freesat box, connected to a satellite dish?
Question Author
The red standby/on light comes on. It's not a Freesat box, not connected to any satellite dish.
Do you get the Humax picture on the tv screen or just the message?
Question Author
Thanks for your responses, Barry. The only thing that comes up on screen is 'No signal detected'. If I click on that, it returns me to the tv's 'Input' menu - aerial, HDMI1, HDMI 2 etc.
When we first switched on the tv today, we got the original JVC blah blah message/logo on screen.
Try plugging it in to a different HDM port.

Thanks again, Barry. We can try that later, I'll let you know how it goes. (The cables guy is out of the building right now.)
In the meantime have you tried changing the input selection on the tv remote to the other HDM ports? Stranger things have worked
Question Author
Yes, I tried the HDMI 2 slot earlier, in desperation really! 'No signal...' was the response.

Barry, although I will still try swapping the HDMI cables over, the immediate panic has gone. The programme I recorded is available on the BBC i-Player, so I'll watch it there tonight.
Try pulling the power cable out of your Humax box, leave it a short while and then re-plug. That will reboot the box; it worked for me when I had the mains off a couple of weeks ago.
