Morrison's Badged Mixer/Liquidiser

Anyone know which company supplies Morrison's with their badged electric kitchen appliances ?

My woman has a liquidiser/mixer, the second one she has bought, admittedly some time ago, and the first was replaced as it started to leak, and the replacement was found to be doing the same last night.

It is rarely used so this seems a bit off. She said she smelt a burning smell. On checking the cutting tool that goes in the bottom of the glass container and into some plastic fitting, comes apart, and the fitting contained half a washer. The other half nowhere to be seen. I'm unsure what the washer was made of, but suspect a standard metal one wouldn't seal the glass container properly.

It would be such a waste to sling another when they are used less than once in a blue moon, but Morrison's site proved of little use, and it was the only place Google found with the model number (except that it had lied as on visiting the Morrison's site neither than model number not the appliance could be seen).

Why do you want to know who made it? The model number would help but I suspect it is Russell Hobbs

Because there us no info on the Morrison's site so I need a new lead.

Need a new lead? Sounds like you need a new washer.
Could it be made of silicone rubber? Very often used where food is in contact.

You could try working out the size of the washer and searching Amazon for rubber sealing gasket food grade of the appropriate size

Out of warranty ages ago.

Silicon rubber eh. Mmm. Maybe, but the remaining half isn't flexible. Seems quite thin too. Puzzling.

One other thing noticed yesterday is that the blade part has a screw thread at the end of it's spindle, but I'm blowed if I can find where it is meant to screw into. I'm wondering if a nut has gone missing.

I have emailed Morrisons in the past and always had a reply, maybe you could ask them who the manufacturer was?

I tried using their webform. Most of it's compulsory options weren't applicable so I had to chose them at random. I have received 2 e-mails so far.

The first seen & opened was labelled as being sent by Morrison's. It asked me to click a link to a survey allowing me to say what I thought of the agent who dealt with my issue. I replied suggesting that they needed to assign an agent first.

I then spotted another e-mail from an individual whose name I didn't recognise. Suspecting it would be spam or a scam I opened it cautiously.

it was apparently from a Morrison's agent ! But they weren't content with the model name I'd entered on their form but wanted photographs of both the item and the receipt. Why the heck they wanted a photograph of a years old receipt, Lord only knows.

I said I'd have to ask if the receipt still existed, but sent a photograph of the item as an attachment anyway.

Later I'm informed the receipt exists so I photograph that and send a further reply including it as attachment.

So far there has been no follow up from them. Not even a confirmation of receipt. I may have to chase it up soon, but it isn't giving a good image of Morrison's.
