MS Exchange Server

My company uses MS Exhange Server for emails. What im wondering, is that email sent from 'external' address arrive in people inbox's immediatly, and ES just distributes them. To do this, does ES just keep logging on and off works ISP POP3 constantly throughout the day every few seconds? Is ES a seperate application that will run on XP Pro? Thanks PM

I would guess and say that the MX DNS record for your domain points at your Exchange server. Mail delivery has nothing to do with POP3, only SMTP. POP3 is only to do with how a client can collect their mail. Though I suspect your company uses IMAP with the Exchange server.
