DVD region unlock

My pc dvd-rom (windows xp) has set to region 2, have some region 1 dvds, how can i unlock it?? already tried 'region killer' and it just froze my pc

you should get the option to change the region settings 3-5 times to do this put the region 1 disk in the drive and it should ask you if you wish to change regions it will also tell you how many changes you have left

If you live close to a comany that builds PC's for their customers, you should be able to take your DVD drive to them and they will "de-chip" it. I recently purchased a new drive and before I took it away I asked if it could be de-regionalised, it took 2 minutes-chip removed-and it was mine. I now enjoy all DVD's ordered from all over the world.Is this really illegal? Richer Sounds sell DVD players that will play any DVD for less than �80 in the UK........................................
