This has been advertised quite a lot.  Can anybody explain what it is about and also is it good.  Especially for a person not into technology.

It seems to be a smart ring and like a smart watch it needs a smart phone.

it will tell you how many hours you have slept, how many calories you have burned, if you seem engaged with the activity you a currently participating in
