Which company was the first to make the FireWire ports commercially available ?

Probably Intel, since the standard IEEE1394 was developed by a consortium (that included Microsoft) over ten years ago it is likely that the first ports were on plug-in devices/cards and not on motherboards.
Firewire technology was developed by Apple
