When I open my hotmail email, a message appears at the top to warn me I am low on storage and  I need to get more storage or I will not be able to use the email . But it says I have around 85%, which seems more than enough to me.  Can I just continue to ignore this??

Thanks

It is the cloud storage(onedrive) that microsoft steer you into then tell you that you need to pay, for more capacity to use your email. Move all the files, and photos in particular, to your hardrive or local  ss storage from onedrive. I thing onedrive only grant you 5g free. Is the 85% you mention your local (devices) spare storage space?

So sorry for the delay in responding Togo, I really was not able to reply before.

85% was part of the reminder received as described.  I do not wish to use cloud storage, I copy my photos onto a separate USB stick (when I remember tbh).

Once again, sorry for the delay.

If onedrive is running on your device it will automaticaly "store" your files in the cloud regardless of you storing them on a USB stick. You will need to delete them from onedrive, and disable it to prevent a repeat,  or your hotmail will fail. Either that or subscribe and purchase extra cloud storage.
