Do you mean a dvd recorder that is hooked up to your tv to record programmes or a pc dvd recorder?

If it's a pc - you definitely can.

Sorry, not a PC DVD recorder
Need more info - you are not being very clear, sorry.

As I understand it you want to record a music cd onto a dvd disc with your dvd recorder.

I can do it with mine, a Philips hard drive disk recorder.

I have another dvd player hooked up to it and the tv. I play the cd in the dvd player, and record it on a manual timed recording with EXT2 as the channel to record.

What's happened is that my CD recorder has packed in and I want to replace it. I thought that if I could buy a DVD recorder, I may be able to record both CD's and DVD's on it if it were possible
I haven't found one that records CDs (I was disappointed that mine wouldn't). It plays them well enough. You'll have to 'Google' around or pick some of the big names like Sony and Toshiba - maybe Philips, and look at their brochures/specifications. I still use my PC to record CDs.
Just found one in a Savastore.com advert in a computer magazine. It is the LITEON LVW-5115GH+, savastore code 10286250 at 123.99. It is a dual format DVD recorder and says that it will record CDs and CDRW. I think this is a new model. Perhaps check LITEON's own website.
