I would like to connect my home telephone using a Voip service, through my Broadband connection, without having my PC on. I have a wireless connection, for my PC. The wirless router is connected to my cable modem, by Ethernet. The router is a wireless G 802.11G.

I don't think you can just use a normal telephone for that. You can buy special phones which will work without the computer being on but you would have to subscibe to some service such as vonage.

i use freetalk (from dixons/currys/pc world. it will cost you 79.99 for an adapter (which you plug your home phone into) and inclusive calls to 01 and 02 landline numbers for 12 months. it works well so far (it's about the same quality as a mobile sometimes).

there are others which are less 'out of the box'. i got FREEtalk (not strictly an honest name!) because it was easy to do.

if you are on blueyonder from telewest or aol there is a procedure but it works fine after you do it.

Make sure to hire provider which will consider the preferences you want with your VOIP. I hope www.myofficephonesystem.com can help.
What you need is a wireless VOIP phones which has an LCD panel. Make sure that the router has Enable VoIP function to activate its frequency compatible to wireless voip phones.
