When doing a search from the taskbar on windows xp how can you seach the whole computer at once rather than having to select individual elements of your computer to search?

Thanks and by the way what exactly is an IP address and what is it used for?
An IP address is used to identity a computer on the Net - computers like the one that tries to sneak Sasser & Dabber worms onto unsuspecting users machines!
