when i first log on, a website for an adult dating agency keeps popping up,how do i stop it from appearing

Has the web site changed the default home page on your browser?

Go to control panel, bring up Internet options and check. If it has you need to change it back.

Do a google search for the website, but include brackets around the site and add "+ remove", exactly like this:

"www.the_site_you_want.com +remove"

This will search for websites that mention that site along with instructions for removing it from your computer.

You should also run your virus program (if you don't have one, go here http://free.grisoft.com/doc/2/lng/us/tpl/v5 now!!) along with some spyware remove software (if you don't have one, go here http://www.lavasoftusa.com/software/adaware/ now!)

Also, just to comment on stevie_c2it's comment... the problem might require more than just changing the home page back to it's default.

The problem with these cunning programmers is that there may be a small program running in the background of your PC that will always revert the homepage back to their dodgy site each time you restart the PC. This is a "worst case" scenario, and hopefully the software I mentioned should fix it for you!

find a site you do want, ie, google.co.uk.......go to the tools menu at the top of internet explorer, go down to internet options, the first page has current home page, type in one u want or use current, which is page you are viewing or use default which was preinstalled with pc.......
