Runtime Error

We are currently unable to open Word email attachments as the following error message appears:

RUNTIME ERROR

Program : c:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office10\WINWORD.EXE

abnormal program termination.

Has anyone any (simple) solutions to put this right?

As a diagnostic measure, first try saving the attachment to disk and see if you can open it then. If so, it could be something as simple as junk in your temporary files folder, which you can easily solve by runing a disk cleanup.

There's a fairly simple option which cures 50% of office problems: Re-install it.

Failing that, write the exact error message into google and see what comes out. Microsoft's Technet is normally quite useful (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/default.aspx) thats where i tend to go first.
