Trojan horse downloader????

have recently scanned my pc for virus "s cannot get rid of one called trojan horse downloader has anybody any ideas on how to get rid....thanks in advance ian.

Depending on what program you are scanning with you will be able to find out where this program lives, eg C:/documents/temp/trojan. Re-scan, and when it shows up as virus found, it should give you the loaction on your computer.

When you have the address to where this lives on your computer, go to it and delete.

You'll also need to empty the Recycle Bin, 'cos that's where it'll be once it's 'deleted'. You don't want it anywhere on your system so get shut completely. For future reference, a quicker way of doing this is to press 'Shift' while you press 'Delete' - the garbage bypasses the Recycle Bin then and just gets scrapped.

You may also have to turn off system restore as they quite often get backed up in there.................
