Lost tunes

Last year I downloaded two Rod Stewart LPs(legally I might add !) They were filed in My Music.After I had my iPod for Christmas I wanted to transfer them to iTunes.I clicked on the "move this file"and designated iTunes - but now I cannot find them at all.

How can I get them back please ?

I would search you hard drive (C:) for *.mp3 files (which is what I guess the original Rod tunes were downloaded as) then *.m4p which are the iTunes files. If you use XP remember to search everywhere including hidden areas.
