Connection to wireless broadband

Potentially blonde question... If i have wireless broadband in my terraced house, what's stopping my next-door neighbours connecting to it??

nothing, unless you encrypt it.

you should definitely encrypt it!!

in the router settings, where will be a wireless security page; make sure that WEP or WPK is set, with password. then you just enter the password on your computer (once), and it'll let you in, but no-one else.

As fo3nix says nothing, but it is actually illegal for them to connect and use your network without permission.
