is there any way i can increase the memory on my laptop?

What make/model is it (check underneath) ? How much memory does it currently have ?

its a packard bell easynote L4, and has 256 ram

Packard-Bell say yes and up to 2Gb with a combination of 2 x 1Gb. Worth a check on www.crucial.com website to show all the options. Click on the UK (if that's applicable) and scroll down to the Scan option on the right.


For example, you could add another 256Mb SODIMM to what you have, or remove what you have and add one or two 1Gb SODIMMs. If you have two memory cards they will need to be matched. SODIMM is just the type of memory card.


They are very easy to swap out/install - there will be a small flap on the base of your laptop with a small screw where the memory lives - see here ;
