You need a wireless router connected to your modem.


The router sends out a signal (like a tv transmitter) which is picked up by a wi-fi card (like a tv aerial) in your computer.


Some computers and laptops are already wi-fi enabled.


The set-up should cost �50 or less.


Remember to use all the available security to stop people accessing your signal.



i bought a wireless router today to work with my laptop which is wireless enabled but after I rang my broardband service provider Homecall they said they do not support the router! �59 quid wasted I thought but there is a way around it by going into the internet connections where it sayd 10.0.0.0.3 and putting that in the addy bar and then searching for it. it worked with the enterneth thing in but when i took it out the connection went so i will ring the helpline for the router 2moz.
Dot - take it back to exchange it for a compatible one.
