is it particularly hard to make your own forum? i can write in html and basic java script. i dont want to pay for a pre made forum and i dont want a free one which is hosted on another site. anyone know any websites with a how to or something?

i'm not a computer wiz by any means... but i know all you really need is a forum package. there are loads around.

My mate set one up for his band using a free package he got with his laptop. A quick check with search.com gave me this site

It's definitely more complicated than you're thinking. You'd need to learn ASP(.net), PHP or some other language perhaps.

If your host supports PHP, give this package a go:

There's plenty of instructions there, and generally these things are easy to set up anyway.
