My 5.1 surround sound card uses standard stereo connections. Can i convert these too av thus being able to use a TV surround sound system on my computer

if your Surround sound has a Dolby decoder built in then a stereo input will be converted to 5.1 sound. if not it will only be simlulated surround sound.
