got a new computer ,lost the hardware for my printer . any clue how i get the computer to insalle it anyway?

Assuming you mean that you lost the drivers/software for your printer, just plug it in and see if the computer picks it up. Depending on how it is connected, you may need to "Add new hardware" in Control Panel. It will help if you have an active internet connection.

If Windows doesn't recognise your printer, try the Canon site for the software, or googling the model of your printer.
