I am not sure Limewire is a problem, but other things he downloads may be. And if it is a laptop you take into work and plug in their network they are not going to be too happy if you have a virus on your laptop.
If you can only have the one PC then stop him being able to access your files and download and install software.
If you are using Windows XP then set up two user accounts.
Set your one with a password and give it administrator authority.
Set his one with no password, but give it only user authority.
This is fairly easy to do, let us know if you want more details.
Limewire and others like it are notorious for spreading viruses so either way I'd uninstall it.
Also, if it's a laptop, I would agree with vehelpfulguy. There's no way that you should be using that on your employer's network and for home use as you can easily compromise the security of your employer's systems
As a final thought, if your work is really important, then consider encrpyting it (so no-one but yourself can read the things, even if someone else does get hold of it), and also make sure you back it all up! Free encryption software can be downloaded here: http://www.gpg4win.org/
