Windows 2000 Error Messages

For last few days I have started to get the following errors while WIndows starts. Solutions to get rid fof the problem requested.

1. Mstask.exe has generated errors and will be closed by Windows.

2. Spoolsv.exe has generated errors and will be closed by Windows.

The first one is Windows Task Scheduler. If you use this, then I don't really have an answer, or at least I haven't found on yet. If you don't use it, you can stop it from starting. To do this, right-click on the My Computer icon on the desktop and choose Manage. Click the plus beside Services and Applications, then click on Services. Scroll down to Task Scheduler and right-click it, then choose Properties. Change the Startup Type to Manual, then click the Stop button near the bottom (if it's available). Click OK.

The second one is the print spooler. The first thing I'd try is to reinstall the drivers for your printer(s). If this doesn't work, there's a fix on the Microsoft website that is quite long. Before you go deleting things out of the Registry, make sure you know what you're doing, it's dark and potentially dangerous in there!
