My husband is a teaches 'Rock School' at several local schools (no he is not Gene Simmons!) Lots of the kids bring tracks they want to learn on mp3 players. He currently produces CD's of backing tracks and guides in his studio and gives them to the kids but increasingly they don't have CD players or cassette players. He wants to get an MP3 player that can file share from one MP3 to another so he can download tracks he produces and transfer them to the kids players. Does such a thing exist? If they do can anyone recommend one? We know the easy way would probably be transfer files from a notepad but ideally would like the cheaper and lighter option as he doesn't want to lug loads of gear around. He has never bought an MP3 player because, until now, the CD method worked and was an easy way of doing it and he always feels the sound quality is not as good. Thanks in advance

Would it be possible to transfer the files with a USB flash drive?

They are very small and portable and relatively cheap.
nope, can't do that, you'd have to transfrer to a laptop or PC,

Actualy you can, a Dell Axim X3 has infrared but a Dell Axim X30 (I own both) has infrared and Bluetooth, most phones have either infrared or Bluetooth, but no MP3 players as sending them would be against copywrite. You can send the MP3 Files from the Dell Axim X3 or X30 PDA to their phones which they can later transfer to their MP3 Players though their computer. X3's with infrared only are cheapest but slowest transfer. they can only be bought off eBay or other 3rd Part Website. I recommed dell axim X30 or above (X50)

Matt

There is such a thing. What you need is an MP3 player with a USB Host facility. For a new one, an iAudio X5 will do the trick and it's good too. Second hand, an iRiver H320 or H340 would do the job well. I own an H340 and I'd recommend one to anyone.

Please note, I'm not actually recommending the particular ebay listings I linked to, it's just an indication of price and to show you what they look like!
