I'd be slightly surprised if it needed a driver given you have XP. Try and look for one at the manufacturer's website though.
What do you mean by not working? Do the lights come on, does the draw open and close? And if you right-click my computer, click properties, then click the 'device manager' button, does it show your drive with a little question mark or exclamation mark by it?
Yes the drawer does open and the lights come on but there does not seem to be enough power.According to My Computer it says that the device is working properly.
It is very unlikely that you need a driver especially as you infer that the device manager says there are no problems. It is more likely that you need a new CD player. I got a DVD burner from eBay for about �23 so they are not expensive.
Yeah, agreed, sounds like the drive has gone to join the great junk yard in the sky. Ooops... I suppose that should be the great recycling plant these days.
