If I want to burn a cd using Windows Media Player 7, the cd invariably comes out crackly and doesn't play properly, except on a dvd player or pc. What am I doing wrong? Is there a better way to burn music onto cds? I have been told it has soemthing to do with burning tracks as a series of MP3s, but I don't understand!

Could be one of several things:

(1) Media Player is currently on Version 10 !! Is there a reason you've not been able to update your player?

(2) Are you doing anything else whilst burning? Does screen saver come on etc? This might be effecting the burn process.

(3) Are you burning MP3 Cds or CDs to play on ordinary home equipment - CD players etc
