PDA not recognising com 3

Hi there,

my new (second hand) PDA, is not recognising my com 3 port. it just says it not available and will open it when it becomes available. (its a 15 pin one)

i looked in device manager and the only port listed is the printer port, but that isn't even plugged in as im on a laptop.

any ideas?
