My desktop icons decided to change on me. there used to be no color (besides the desktop background) behind the name of my desktop icons. they are now blue. i can change the color but i cant seem to be able to get it back to no color at all. How is this done? system restore dosent seem to work, it says unable to restore, no changes have been made.

This has happened to me, I am not sure how it happens but to cure it: Right click on the desktop go to properties, desktop, customise desktop click on the web tab and make sure "my current home page" is highlighted and then click ok and apply. It works for me I hope it works for you.

Thanx cherrybomb, i ended up doing a system restore in safe mode and it worked. I did what you said and the "my current home page" is not checked but my icons are back to normal now. I would still like to know how to fix this without doing a system restore.
