on limewire why would a song or video say 'waiting in line position....' when there is only 1 or 2 other things downloading and it can download 10 things at a time?
It means waiting in line for the PC where it is going to be downloaded from to become available. You may only be 1 or 2 other songs but their PC may be downloading/uploading a lot more.
Check in the options menu and you can see that the settings for the maximum allowable upload/download songs at the same time can be adjusted.
not sure if this is what khana is trying to say, but i was always under the impression that it meant that if you were in position 10, there were 9 others who need to download that file before its your turn.
It means there are very few uploaders in the network and that you that there are other people waiting to download it from one of the uploaders and that you are in the queue to follow.
Each Limewire user can configure their machine to limit the number of uploads from them. If the song you are trying to download is only available from one host, and that host has set their machine to limit uploads then you will join a queue. This is a typical option for people on slower connections.
