After some really good advice on this subject I have run into another problem. All in one printer/fax connected to a pc. I am told that I need a print server to netork this printer to the other 2 in same room but all are saying that print servers don't work with all in one's. Can anyone throw any light on this, is that the case or can i get round this prob. Would like to as faxing from PC rather than fax is far better and would like to share this facility with the other 2 pc's. Cheers to anyone with advice

A print server will certainly work for printing functions. However, scanning is another matter.

Basically it is down to the capability of the scanner part of the all-in-one. If it isn't designed to be a 'networked' scanner, and most aren't, then there is no way round it using a print server.

What make/model of all-in-one is it ?
Copy this into the address bar in Internet Explorer:
C:\WINDOWS\system32\netsetup.exe

GO throught the easy wizard and make sure you click turn on file and printer sharing.

On the Machine that doesnt Have the printer connected directly throught USB or firewire or whatever, go to control panel, printers and faxes, and add a printer. then go to network printer, and press next. Then locate the Printer on the other machine. Its easy. Tell me if theres any problems
