Cable Modem Problem

My Motorola SB4200 Surfboard modem keeps shutting down and will only restart after disconnecting from the mains. This is at the suggestion of Telewest Broadband but it is still a source of irritation to put it politely.
Any suggestions as to the cause of the problem?

Have you looked in the log of the modem to see what it may show just before or when it reboots ?

Open any browser and http://192.168.100.1 will do the trick.
