How many songs will a MP3 Player hold if it has 256MB?

roughly 4 megs per song so 256 divided by 4 = 64 songs approx
You can encode MP3s at different bitrates, the size of which increases with quality.

64 kbps might only take 1Mb per song, so you can have 256 tracks at radio quality.

128 kbps will be aprox 4Mb per song and is good quality - most of my MP3s are 128 or 160 kbps

320 kbps is near CD quality and you might be lucky to fit 1 album in 256 MB
