Is there a cd player that is compatible with my mp3 player?

Hi All,
I have a Creative Zen Micro MP3 player which I am happy with, however, I have seen various CD Players/stereos in the Argos catalogue/Currys etc that say they have a USB port and are MP3 compatible.
I purchased one and connected the MP3 player to the CD Player using the USB cable that came with my MP3 player but it didnt work.
I have only ever used the cable to connect my MP3 player to my laptop when transferring music but I thought the cable should work for this too. When I tried plugging my partners MP3 player ( which is like a flash disk) into the CD player, it worked, playing all the music stored on the MP3 player.
Can anyone tell me if there is a CD player that will accept my make of MP3 and if so what. Or, if I am doing something wrong please let me know!!!
It is so frustrating as there are plenty of CD players with iPod docs, but nothing that seems to be compatible with my Creative.
Thanks in advance
Kim

The USB cable is provided so you can connect your player to a PC to download music files to the player. Apart from which I can't imagine why you would want to play an MP3 player through a CD player, but if that's what you want to do, why not buy one like your partner's? Sorry but I don't know how to make the player do this. Hope someone else can provide more information.

BenDToy, the reason that I want to play my mp3 player through a CD player is the same reason that they make stereos with ipod docks - so you can listen to the music stored on your mp3 player out loud and not have to worry about changing a cd when it ends.
ianmunt, do you know what that gadget is? my cd player is a radio/cd player with fm so this would work. Thank you for your help.
legend758, the one i bought had a usb port which made me think that it would work with my mp3 player. I will have a look in ASDA next time i am shopping to see if i can find the cd player you are talking about. I can always return it if it doesnt work, thank you!
