IMEI Changing

Does anybody know how to change an IMEI on a Nokia 6310i? My brother thought it would be hilarious to block my phone and the phone people wont let me put it back online. I know its illegal but i would be completely over the moon if i could get it working again because its the best fone i have ever bought! Thanks a lot.

Try doing a google groups search... or go to uk.telecom.mobile on your news reader and see if anyone is prepared to tell you!

Is it purely coincidence that your phone's blocked and you don't have a manual for it? Did the guy down the pub assure it was kosher?

You cant change your IMEI number -its part of the handsets firmware itself. to change it the memory would have to be completely reflashed and re programmed by the manufacturer - Which they wouldnt do. the only reason the IMEI number would make the phone impossible to unlock was if the phone was reported as stolen to the Police. Call you Netork and ask for the PUK code if thats what the phone is asking for, but if the phone itself is locked (it asks for the code whatever sim of the same network you put in) then contact the handset manufacturer for the code.
