Hi i bought a new laptop at the weekend and want to connect to the aol service (or bt whatever) but do i always have to use a phone line to connect to the internet via the phone line.

I want to be able to use it while away. im using home computer at the moment and am fine with that but am confused with the laptop.

a friend of mine suggested a wireless router. can anybody help even a website where can i refer to

also what is the best broadband internet provided

You mean you want to use it with no wires or cables? Then you'll need a wireless router, maybe with an ADSL modem built-in. For these try ebayer.co.uk.

The broadband providers are much of a muchness. I've found Tiscali to be pretty good. BT are good too but tend to change a bit more I found.

You say you want to be able to use the laptop online "while away." What do you mean by this?
