Is this a good spec?

Just wondering if this is a decent spec for its price , for general home use , downloading music and surfing a bit.

Pentium D processor ( 2.80 GHz , 800MHz, 2 x 2MB cache) , 48 x CD-RW/DVD combo , 1024mb DDR RAM , 160 igg hard drive and Graphics MEdia Accelator 950

Costs under 500

All these speccy thigns are a bit lost on me im afraid :(

That's a little overkill if you're really only going to use it for surfing the net etc.
On any PC these days I'd expect a DVD writer : they cost next to nothing.

thats a good Laptop or Pc, but like stevie21 said. you should expect a DVD writer like nero or something like that.

nero is software...i think stevie was referring to the drive itself.

all looks fine to me. only let down is the graphics media accelerator 950. but for doing what you want to do, i'm sure it'll be fine. don't expect to be able to play the very latest 3D game though.
