Outlook Express sounds

I recently received an e-mail with a rather appealing tune embedded ' I don't know the name of the tune. Does anyone have advice on how to extract a sound from Outlook Express (.dbx?) files please?

I've tried looking through the html of the mail but there seems to be no reference to a sound file, or even any image files which were also included with the mail. [it is one of those Incredimails].

Why not play it, and record it off your soundcard? Loads of ways to do that. [even the Windows recorder at a pinch]

Use a service like Shazam - play the tune into your mobile phone and it will tell you the name of the tune. More details: http://www.shazam.com (hope you have a mobile phone!)

Keldar: I've been humming the tune for the last three days and someone did recognise it. It was "working in a coalmine" and I now have the midi and MP3 version.

Xyggy: I've been told I can't record off my soundcard cause I have a HP puter, something about regulated sound. That techy stuff is a bit beyond me.

Mikewith: My last mobile ended up in the river, the best place for it. I have enough phones around me.

Cetti: The tune was not on the list, but I had a good nosey around on the site. Think I'll give Incredimail a miss though.

wildwood - I considered writing "[your mobile] if you have one" but decided that would sound so old-fashioned. I stand corrected, and wish I had the guts to do the same...

I think you've made the right move wildwood, incredimail is not only proven spyware, but can cause a few other problems. I admit I loved it - but ditched it after 'things' started to happen!
