Sorry, due to somer idiot posting a stupid comment rather than an answer, i have had to repost.....

A friend of mine downloads newly released US DVDs for either: -

www.sharethefiles.com
www.sharevirus.com

He then converts them to DVD. The quality is not bad at all but sometimes the movie will either slightly jitter (when panning) or be pixelated.

Is this generally the thing with downloaded films or can you download crisp quality films? If so, from where, which site?

I haven't read the first question, so this may have already been said. It just depends on the way that the video was encoded in the first place.

Your best place is perhaps one of the many BitTorrent tracker sites. Many films on there are full ~4.4GB dvd rips.
