Can you recommend a digital camera?

I'm looking for a digital camera that will take clear sharp photos at close range, specifically for photographing jewellery and coins to a reasonably high standard. Can anyone recommend a digital camera that will do this but won't cost me a year's wages?

http://www.dpreview.com will set you right too. I'd recommend a Fujifilm S602 Zoom. It's an upgraded version of an old camera I had and works wonders for about �550. I can vouch that you won't get much better quality without going out for a professional digitial SLR.
