Laptops and notebooks are these days, much the same thing.

Laptops are usually slightly bigger physically than notebooks, but different makers use different terms.

As long as it has a USB port it will be compatible with your printer and scanner.

As always, go for the best internal components you can afford. The faster processor, bigger hard drive, the most RAM.
The more USB ports the better.

Take your time and shop around. Go into PC World, Comet or similar - have a good look. Is the keyboard big enough? Is it too small/big/heavy?

Make a list of what you want from the machine, and find one that fits all your requirements, within your budget.
Laptop and Notebook are just two names used interchangably. They're the same thing.
