can you put songs onto a dvd-rw and then play them back again on a cd player etc ... ?

The above is wrong. You can't play a DVD in a hifi type CD player. Ever.

You can play the DVD back through a PC's or laptop's DVD drive or via a DVD player wired up to your telly.
You can only play CD-RW on the CD players including HIFI CD players that support to playback CD-RW. However, I have never seen any HIFI CD players that support to playback CD-RW. So your best bet is to use a PC that has CD player that has facility to playback CD-RW.
stevie has it. To playa DVD you must have a DVD player, they look the same as CDs but that is where it stops. For about �20 you can buy a cheap DVD player that plays just about anything, just hook it up to your HI Fi. Cy Marven
