In the USA or Japan, could i play it on my Sony Bravia lcd tv, which was bought in the UK?

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.question- i thought pal was a video system as apposed to our vhs which is for video tapes. is a playstation not a dvd system that can be switched from region 1 to 2 or vica-versa? i have an LG dvd player and i'm sure it says it could be used in the u.k. or in canada. definitley could be wrong mind you.
im in the uk, and i used to have a usa nintendo 64, that worked ok, i just thought because of massive movements in technology the newer consoles would be differnet and not so compatable,
you would, either have to have the region settings on the dvd/blueray drive hacked, or uk games wouldnt work on it, so, not only would you have to buy the console from usa/japan, youd have to get imported games too,
so id advise you, if you were going to get one, to get it from the usa... that way the games would be readable!!
i remember japan having some very very strange N64 games...
