what wrong with my computer

Hi all im avin a few probs with my computer

Whenever i put my flash disc in or my ipod there not as they used to be. I can never open them in my computer it just keeps saying that i need to format them. But if i try that then it tells me that it cannot be formatted this is happening with everything i put into my usbs

any ideas cheers
