20 second delay on AB

I experience a 20 second delay whenever I'm on Answerbank,as I change from subject to subject. I'm on ntl broadband, my modem lights have u/s & d/s lights that remain unlit until the 20 seconds have elapsed. I've tried every thing to speed this up, disc frag, cleared every thing not required. I'm now lost. The problem only occures on AB.... Can any one suggest a cure
