If a burn fails with a DVD+R disc, is there anyway to reformat or reuse the disc?

As ZebUK says, use the dvd as a drinks coaster. I buy packs of 50 cheap dvd's and find that about 4% are no good - I only find the faulty ones as I burn, so just try again using a new dvd.
