trouble sending an attatchment in an email

when i try to send one, a microsoft worksbox pops up to tell me it couln't send the file because "the file format may not be supported by any of the installed converters" how then please, can i get additional converters to change this file so it can be sent in an email

Why not zip it up.

Programs like WinZip or WinRAR will zip the file up and give it an extension of ZIP or RAR.

She have no problem emailing a zip or rar file.

The person the other end then has to unzip or unrar it.

It will make the file smaller anyway so that is a good thing.
