You'll have to find a software hack for your PC's dvd player cause if you change the region more than five times it will lock automatically on the 5th change and stay on that region....try a google search with the words PC dvd region hack and that should hopefully give you what you are looking for.
i dont think its easy hacking the dvd player. but if you havent already got a stand alone dvd player then i would consider getting multi region. as well as being cheaper, american dvd's come out before british ones anyway.
http://www.regionfreedvd.net/ It's $39.95. (About 25) I couldn't find a free one anywhere. This plays my American, UK and Hong Kong DVDs. Having said that. a multi region player connected to the TV is much better if you can stretch to it.
I had the same problem, and tried various freeware products, but Region Free turned out to be the best bet, and you get free upgrades for life! If you have a standalone player, many can be easily hacked to multiregion. Assuming you haven't already done this and don't have a multiregion already, do a search on "DVD region hacks". Depending on your player, you may be able to get rid of the coding restrictions by using the remote.
