I have several forum sites in my favourites. When I open them some are current but some are dated from when i last viewed the page. I dont think I did anything different when I saved each one - so any idea about how I can save/make each page be up to date?

Pressing Ctrl and F5 whilst viewing the page should refresh it. This tells IE to pull the page from server rather than using any local cached version. Its possible for the page designer to specify how long (if at all) a page is cached which is why you will notice that some pages always update whilst others don't.

Thanks SB ,tried to post earlier but system wouldnt let me. Can the cache be overridden I wonder?Probably not. Ho hum will just have to remember which ones need updating.
Local cache usage can be changed in IE from the Internet Options item on the tools menu. Find the 'Temporary Files' section and select 'Settings'. Try setting it to 'Check for newer versions on every visit to page' rather than Automatic. This will probably slow down your browser but you should get the current version of any page. ( It may still not work if you are browsing via a proxy e.g. on an company network, which may be maintaining its own cache. )
