For a Win9x system shut down and select "restart in DOS" for other systems you must reboot from a DOS floppy disk (oh, and hope your hard drive is not formatted using the NTFS file system). Navigate to your file (using the dir, cd, cd.. commands then delete it using the del command. Bear in mind all the syntax requirements and DOS limitations. Why not start in safe mode (press F5 or F8 on boot up) then delete it as it is much easier?
thanks j2--u beat me to the answer--i have found on occasions that booting to safe mode hasn't worked for deleting the odd file if it is tied up with windows but i do agree it is easier and in this case it is a pic file so should work--hope this helps john tho if u need info on dos commands etc let me know--probably easier to email u what u need--my email is [email protected] again j2
