virus plague

can someone help please-i am being plague by a worm-it first installed itself in xp in C:\docs and settings\all users\start menu\programs\start up-my ezantivirus alerted me and described it as win32.protoride.a.worm-it said it was i a file msupdate.exe-i deleted it but soon after it reappeared as win32.protoride.b etc-again i cleaned it out but it keeps coming back and is now at version win32.protoride.e etc-i have used regedit as well as my antivirus softwareto try get rid of it for good but no luck-it even appeared on one occasion a sub folder _restore-i cleaned it from there too but still it returns-by temp disabling restore security to do that it clears all restore points but the worm still returned-i am going mental-i have looked at ezantivirus web site and followed their instructions to get rid of it-but still it returns-anyone else had this and got rid of it please?

never seen this virus but it might be worth checking out other anti virus sites, symantec for example or even the microsoft site
